Teaching Case: Weight-Reduction Surgery: A Viable but Often Overlooked OptionEditor-in-Chief, NCP, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania When obese patients are offered weight-reduction plans, the option of weight-reduction surgery is often not proposed. This may be due to the lack of knowledge on the part of the counseling health care professional.
