Critical Care Enteral Formula Improves Outcomes for a Patient with Chronic Pressure Ulcers

Enteral formulas commonly used for nutrition support in trauma, hypermetabolism, surgical recovery, arid other critical illnesses are seldom used for patients outside the intensive care unit. This case study explains how a long-term, acute-care facility specializing in wound care and ventilator management was successful in improving the healing outcomes of an elderly patient with severe chronic pressure ulcers by providing nutrition support with a peptide-based, critical care enteral formula.
